Coach James Dailey and Lafayette College Swimming

Jim Dailey enters his 30th season as head coach of the Lafayette swimming program. Dailey served as the interim coach during the 1993-94 campaign and was an assistant coach from 1991-93. He became the Leopards’ 12th head coach in program history. In 2006, Dailey was named Patriot League Women’s Swimming Coach of the Year.

Since taking over at Lafayette, Dailey has guided the Leopards to a total of 35 individual Patriot League titles and has had a total of 23 men and 20 women selected to the All-Patriot League team. Four of his men were on the Patriot League All-Decade team. Since 1992 several milestones have been broken by his swimmers/divers. In 1992 swimmer Andrew Rutherfurd finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke at NCAA’s. In 2009 diver Kevin Oswalt made NCAA Division I East regionals. In 2016 swimmer Greg Grewal made NCAA Division I B standards in both breaststroke events and swam in the US Olympic Trials that same year. In 2022 swimmer Michael Gorgan made NCAA Division I B standards in the 100 breaststroke.

Displaying a constant commitment to academics and athletics, his women’s program has been named to the CSCAA Academic All American list 58 of the last 60 semesters, while the men have made the list 56 times during that same period. His student-athletes regularly are awarded for their excellence during Lafayette College Honor’s Convocation and are routinely nominees for prestigious national recognition. The team and student-athletes within the program have been awarded the Pepper Prize, NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship, NCAA Graduation Success Rates top 10% recognition, NCAA Woman of The Year nominee and NCAA Walter Byers’ Scholarship nominee.

70th Anniversary Highlights

The Arc of Warren County was founded in 1954 by parents, educators, and other interested individuals who recognized the need for a comprehensive program of service and support for their children who had intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc today serves more than 1,100 people annually. This number includes persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their family members. Countywide programs include community living arrangements, recreation, day programs, community based support, advocacy, early intervention, and a wide range of social services.

The Arc of Warren County is part of a state and national Arc network of providers who offer quality services and programs through 700 chapters across the United States each year.

Funding for The Arc programs is made available through Medicaid, the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), the New Jersey Department of Human Services, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (Project First Step), the Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders and through private and corporate donations.
